Make Money Online With Google Adsense: Getting Started With Adsense

Google AdSense is a free program that gives online publishers the opportunity to make money online by displaying relevant ads on their websites.
A very important element in the rapid adoption of AdSense is that it has been very easy for publishers to get the ads on their site as quickly as possible.

Integrating AdSense in your website takes only a few minutes, and you can be on your way with one or more nicely integrated AdSense ads.

The first thing you need to do is navigate to Google Adsense and either apply or log in with your existing account and password. What follows is a page presenting the Google AdSense Terms and Conditions which you must agree to in order to proceed.

You are presented with a report page which you can use to get a detailed status on how your AdSense advertising is doing. This allows you to improve your site's contents and layout to maximize your AdSense earnings.

On the top of your page you also have other links- Adsense Setup, My Account and Resources. There is a "My Account" tab, this allows you to set up details concerning your account, payment and tax information.

Before you can get your ads, navigate to Adsense Setup. You can use AdSense for content, Adsense for search, Adsense for feeds and Adsense for domains. Your choice among these options depends on how users will navigate your site.

To add a text ad on your site, click the "AdSense for content" link. Make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser. You can make a choice between ad units and link units. The former contain text and or images concerning a certain site for each unit, most with a detailed description, the latter only contain links to certain types.

Of course, it's a bit hard to know which type you should use so you should probably experiment with both for a while before you decide.

You can also view an example of how the unit will look to the right of your page. However, you may only use three ad units and one link unit on any given page. This is believed to be a step which Google takes for quality control.

The next step is to choose your add format and colors. You can basically select any color palette you choose with Google offering some of its own if you don't have the time or skill to create one. You can constantly view how the palette will look through the aid of an example. The one that works best in terms of appearance and revenues will vary with the look, feel and content of a website.

However, your ad formats are limited to a choice of eleven formats. There's an "Ad Formats" link which takes you to a page that lets you see all even of these in action so you can decide best which one suits your site. Sometimes the most intrusive, doesn't work best however again, this can vary from website to website.

After you finish with customization, you can click "Continue" from the bottom of the page.

You are now presented with a section entitled "AdSense for Content". You can click anywhere in the text box where the JavaScript is and copy the code. This is the ads code that you will put on your website to get AdSense running.

Next, paste the code into your pages directly. If you use dynamic pages, you should paste this code within your template so as to ensure that it gets displayed on any page of your website. Some advertisers choose not to display Adsense on every page, and this is understandable. An example of this is a company that has adsense, may also have terms and condition which would inevitably provide legal resources which would probably be deemed inappropriate.

What is then left for you to do is get content on your page (provided you didn't have any already). Google AdSense crawlers will soon visit your site, making sure that the ads displayed are relevant to your site's content.

And you're all done. For a simple page this should indeed be a matter of a few minutes, which is precisely what makes AdSense the choice for so many publishers to make money online.

Okay, you’ve found a profitable niche and you’ve got a product. Next, you must do is to put together tools that will allow you to communicate, manage and profit from your niche.
So, what these tools are? These are the tools that you need to make money, appear professional and start your business online.

1. A domain name – this is your business address in the cyber world.
2. A hosting account – a third-party company to handle all the technicalities involved in keeping your domain up.
3. An autoresponder – this is your communication channel. It allows you to create “a list” and build a relationship with those individuals.

People tend to get stuck here. Technical issues scare many folks who aren’t technically inclined. The good news is that you don’t have to be technical at all. In fact, you don’t want to be. You’re the marketer, not the system administrator. So, we’ll tackle these things with my recommendations.

When looking for a new domain, I go to GoDaddy.com and search for various available domains
based on the words relevant to my product. After I find a domain I like, I register my domain there. GoDaddy.com do a great job of managing domains.

Now that you’ve got a domain, you’ll need a host. This is not as complicated as it sounds. There are thousands of hosts out there priced from $2 per month to $200 or more per month.

As an affiliate marketer, it's highly recommended to get a host with some specific criteria:

1) Host an unlimited number of domains. Why? Guess what – after you put up your first niche market domain and begin selling products specific to that market, you’ll want to do another. Once you have two income producing domains, you now have the elusive multiple streams of income we hear so much about. And you’ll be hooked. You’ll want more streams and fast.

2) As much storage space as you can get. More space equals more room to load products, domains and websites.

3) As much bandwidth as you can get. This is probably more important than storage space. Bandwidth is the amount of data transfer.

4) Unlimited email accounts. You must have e-mail. A good host will make your e-mail management a breeze. You can manage as many e-mail addresses as you want.

5) Great support. This is essential, having a person behind the host who will help you quickly and personally is important. Your host is a very important relationship and make sure you choose carefully.

An Autoresponder is a program that automatically answers all incoming emails (sent to a certain email address) with a pre-written text (response). It is very convenient for those who receive emails that require immediate answer but cannot be answered straight away due to some reasons. You need autoresponder to send your messages on a regular basis to people who have opted in or subscribed to your list. Why?

As people subscribe to your list, you’ll have loaded 20 to 100 sequential messages over a longer period of time to automatically build your relationship.

Step 4: Building A List

What’s next is start building a list. After all, building a list is the most important key that allows most internet marketers to make money online. It’s an actual asset that can be sold. 'The money is in the list'. You must have heard it many times. So, everything you do should be geared toward building a list.
But why would your prospect group want to hear from you? Do they know you, like you, or trust you yet? Nope. You haven’t established a relationship with these folks yet.

Your goal is to get permission to talk to them so you can offer them your products as part of the valuable content you dispense. This content becomes the focus of your ongoing conversation. You have to exchange something of value to get permission to begin the conversation. Then, it’s up to you to keep the conversation relevant and respectful.

Set up a squeeze page or opt in page to capture visitors contact info, then offer to visitors an opportunity to get more information by first inputting their e-mail address and name. Getting that information is the entire focus of the page.

Step 5: Bringing Visitors To Your Site

Putting your offer in front of the prospect is your chances to make sale, but before you can do that you need to bring them in. If you don’t have the ability to bring the people to your product, you’ll never make a sale.
